Sample Camp Schedule
All workshops will follow social distancing and COVID-19 protocols.
Sessions will be taught simultaneously throughout the day, led by teaching artists in their specialized area. Singers will be placed in pods of 3-5 on the first day of camp and will rotate each session with their pod. The full cohort will come together each day for movement, yoga, warm-up, lunch, and a masterclass in a socially distanced space.
All workshops will conclude with a showcase.
All camps include daily solo performance opportunities, group piano lessons, music theory classes, and yoga.
Nick Harmantzis -Music Theory, Piano, Voice Coach
Nick Harmantzis is an innovative music educator, voice teacher, and vocal coach in the Philadelphia Area. His focus is placed on not just creating great singers, but smart singers who understand healthy vocal production, who are musically literate, and who can effectively express the intention of a piece through the voice. Nick's private students regularly are casted in school, community, and regional theater productions and have auditioned and received callbacks for national casting calls. Nick holds an M.A.T in Music Education from the University of the Arts where he attended on a full presidential fellowship as well as an M.M. in Voice Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a B.M. in Voice Performance from Ithaca College. He is a Pennsylvania Certified Educator and teaches middle school music at the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA. Nick resides in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia with his wife, Lacey, and his miniature dachshund, Liesel.
Sydney Becker- Vocal Coach, Yoga, Songwriting
Sydney Becker recently received her Bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre from Eastern University, where she studied voice under Teresa Nevola Moyer. Described by many as a sensitive and strong actor, Ms. Becker has performed in musicals ranging from The 25th Putnam County Spelling Bee to Fiddler on the Roof to Little Women. Her repertoire ranges from classical pieces by composers such as Handel, to musical theatre pieces that span over the last 100 years. During her time at Eastern, Ms. Becker toured with their select choir, Turning Point, for three years and had the opportunity to perform with them in venues such as the Kimmel Center. Prior to COVID-19, Ms. Becker could be found teaching kids in theatre and camp programs around the Mainline. During her leisure time, Sydney enjoys painting, playing with her dog, Bella, and taking long hikes in the great outdoors.
Emi Aungst- Dance and Suzuki Acting Technique
Emi is a recent graduate of Long Island University with a BFA in Musical Theatre Studies. This program is based on Tadashi Suzuki's physical acting training and the philosophy of shaping "actors who can...". This ideology allowed Emi to learn costuming skills and establish a love for directing. As well as advance her vocal technique, hone in on her dance studies, and compete and learn in the ever changing performing arts industry. Through her 4 years of studies she not only graduated Cum Laude, but is able to professionally label and market herself as an 'Actor Who Can...' sing, dance, costume, and direct.
